Q: Why or why not concave mirrors are suitable for makeup?
Ans: The concave mirror makes image very close to the mirror and
it is of smaller size. Therefore, this type of mirror is not suitable for
make-up. But if it is kept close, a concave mirror is a kind of spherical mirror with it's inner curved region as the reflecting surface .The property of concave mirror utilized in makeup mirror is that when the object is kept between the focus and mirror a virtual and magnified image is formed.

ReplyDeleteIts not right! Right answer: When face is placed between the concave mirror and its focus, it produces a magnified image. This enlarged image of face is helpful in makeup as even pores of skin are clearly visible..

DeleteIt is EXACTLY the opposite. A Convex mirror creates a small image with a wider field while a concave mirror creates an enlarged or magnified image!
