         Boy Scouts is a British organization. Lord Baden Powell founded it in 1910. The objectives of the organization are very dignified and noble. Its main purpose is to train the boys for the hard responsibilities of life. The organization trains the scouts to perform their duties well. It makes them useful citizens of society. The boys who join the movement become honest, responsible and punctual in imparting their duties. They become courteous, social, cultured and civilized.

        Scouting has three stages, Wolf Cubs; Boy Scouts and Rover Scouts. All scouts promise to carry out the scout laws. Their motto is " Be ready". They are ever ready to do good to others. They are clean in thoughts, words and deed. They are also loyal to their country. 


          The life of the scout is well balanced. He enjoys the good health. He takes part in all kinds of outdoor activities. He learns the use of axe, knife and hammer. He knows how to cook food and peg a tent. He learns how to help others. He does not hurt other's feelings. He helps the needy, old and poor people.


        Camping is an important part of a scout's training. In camping he learns all these useful things. He learns how to work and live with others. He learns how to cooperate and compete. He learns cooking, hiking, tracking, signalling and other useful skills during camping. He also gets training in first aid and does a lot of useful work in the times of emergency like flood and war.


        Scouting is a very useful and noble movement . It develops in the boys the qualities of leadership and makes them the most useful members of the society. It arouses the passion of patriotism also. In short, scouting is very important for every young boy. (300)
